Support our fight against infectious diseases

in semi-nomadic areas in Kenya

Your help is of great importance, especially today!

While the entire world is being hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, the semi-nomadic population of Kenya continues to need our help. Now that access to health care has worsened due to the current situation, our support is essential.

The Dutch-Kenyan Health Foundation strives to improve public health in the semi-nomadic areas of Kenya, in which collaboration with local public health authorities is key. We focus on health problems as a result of local environmental factors and habits, such as tuberculosis and leprosy. Especially in the light of the current COVID-19 pandemic, adequate tuberculosis control is very important. We continue to support the patients enrolled in our programs in regard to tuberculosis and leprosy.

With your help, we can provide the semi-nomadic population with:

– Tracing tuberculosis patients, adequate treatment including housing in our TB manyatta’s and conducting contact tracing
– Detection and treatment of leprosy
– Treatment of tropical skin infections

As a part of our extensive collaboration with the Kenyan Public Health authorities, the Kenyan government provides the patients in our TB manyatta’s with daily high-protein meals.
